Just a heads up. Graham Hancock peddles pseudoscientific archaeological theories to the uninformed and credulous. He has no credentials or training in the field of archaeology. No actual archaeologists support his ludicrous ‘theories’. He has been debunked multiple times, but keeps writing and publishing silly books. Don’t be fooled by this crank.

Cres. An elderly relative got taken in by this charlatan. I had to spend hours researching and explaining why this was bunk. It really irritated me. You can do your own research. I’m not going to do it for you. You do no one any favors by spreading this pseudo scientific garage around.

i love a bit of pseudo science. Besides any civilization that can get huge stones to fit together like they did in south america has some kind of “advanced knowledge” You’d think it would have been easier to just invent cement mortar.

It saddens me to think that we are hardwired or imprinted so heavily that we are unable to be open-minded to other points of view. That, or vested interest encourage attacking alternate theories.
While I don’t casually accept all of Hancock’s theories or conclusions he has undoubtedly brought focus to several oddities that do indicate a different historical human path than that presented by mainstream archaeology.
Being scientifically minded and reasonably well informed I recognize that archaeology takes factual information and then infers meaning or theorizes… well guess what, that is exactly what Hancock does.
A megalith is found with some chicken bones buried nearby. The stone cannot be dated, so archeologists carbon-date the bones. They then infer the age of the shaping of the megalith based on the bones… with authority no less.
Hancock is not so different in that he theorizes based on factual information. His theories may just be more sensational is all.
And perhaps he’s closer to the truth, we don’t have enough facts yet.
While I respect the scientific method, most of what we consider fact is actually theory or inference; The Big Bang, gravity, quantum theory… we are even able to use tools based on these theories, but that does not make it fact.
Some scientists/archaeologists are so set in their view that it borderlines on dogma.
You know who else base their unchanging perspectives on presently unverifiable beliefs?
Creationists. And that’s just bonkers right?
Instead, let’s just find that megalith with the chicken bones nearby. Say that we can to our best estimate date the bones but we don’t really know the age of the shaping of the megalith to any certainty. The rest is just guesses and storytelling by both camps.
Archeologists are inferring just as Hancock does… university degree or not.
I will know illegally acquire this copy-written literature and not bully my fellow high-horsed commenters. :P

Amazing to see ignorant mainstream shills even here on a piracy website. This book is phenomenal, mainstream history is incomplete and we cannot explain everything by clinging to dogma.
