Aavarana: The Veil by S. L. Bhyrappa is a story of a free-spirited and rebellious young woman, Lakshmi, who marries the man she is deeply in love with. Amir, her husband, requests she convert to Islam, and she reluctantly agrees. Despite her father being completely against the marriage, she breaks ties with him and changes her name to Razia. However, things change for the worse, and she discovers a different side to Amir. He is not the progressive and liberal person she thought he was. He, along with his family, forces her into practicing Islam. This sets Lakshmi on a journey to uncover India’s history of religion, caste, and creed. And she finds out that although Indian society has come a long way over the centuries, it still remains as rigid as before.

It’s not strictly history, but it is contextualised by the rubric “historical fiction” which concerns historical themes.

India is the only home for Hindus unlike the Muslims and Christians who have multiple nations adhering to their ideology. Hindus support secularism ad yet we are targeted by missionaries, jihadies and communists.
All our philosophies, practices and ideas are appropriated by the Christians and our temples demolished by the Muslims!It’s as though Hindus don’t have the right to exist.

Alpine, the name of the category is “HISTORICAL FICTION” - not “HISTORY”. It is exactly where it should be. What is the problem?

calm down kiddo! I know its not history, it is historical fiction/ fiction. I generally upload history and nonfiction so I edited cookies for ABB in my browser; thus whenever I upload any torrent on ABB some keywords get filled in tags section automatically. This was an exception as someone was bugging me for this book since feb. on 1337x so I uploaded and didn’t noticed tags. EDITED.
