What Marx actually wrote was a critique of the commodity mode of production, in which labor power is another commodity. The so-called communist & socialist states did not break from this mode of production. Instead, the state became the firm. That is NOT what Marx advocated. You should read Marx, caesar963, instead of just spouting reactionary BS.

“This ideology will likely cause…” = Necessary to pay close attention to causation & causative sequence here. The old causative compass. Expedient historical vacuums are inadmissible.
Regarding atrocities, terror & genocide, these are also gruesomely germane to Marx & Engels, as they did not merely confine themselves to conjuring wholly non-viable economic models. (Read them indeed.)
That the toxic ideological efforts always disastrously failed in the stages before they reached Marx’s fantasy panacea does say quite a lot about extreme ideology, as we know.
As to “so-called communist & socialist states” - the same states tirelessly supported & promoted by fellow ideologues for decades, all around the world. Still the case, of course (see: the demented ideologues on this very site).

The more attractive an ideology is, the more easily it can be weaponized in service of totalitarian regimes. This doesn’t make its ideas wrong, it just means that ideologies of any kind have to be approached with critical thought, not fanatical belief.
