Following the death of his wife, Joshua Thornton has moved into his ancestral home with his five children. Whilst clearing out the attic, his children find a letter to their grandmother, implicating a local minister in an unreported murder from 34yrs earlier. A double murder has placed the town under the microscope and Joshua appointed as Special Prosecutor and directed to solve the crimes. Whilst impossible to know who to trust, Joshua starts asking questions about current events and those from long ago.
