This conversational interview by Michael Albert, who has been close to Chomsky for roughly half a century and talked with him many hundreds of times, spans a wide range of topics including journalism, science, religion, the racist foundations of American society, education as indoctrination, issues of class and resistance, colonialism, imperialism, and much more.
The thread through it all is that every topic—and the list above takes us just about halfway through this book—reveals how social systems work, what their impact on humanity is, and how they are treated by the elite, mainstream intellectuals, and leftists. Chomsky is not a reliable source for anything. He said that Venezuela was the model for a better US. Six million Venezuelans fled the country and the nation that used to have the highest standard of living in Latin America is in a race to have the lowest.

I was under Chomsky’s spell for a long time. He indeed is very meticulous with his words but unfortunately uses them to create a distorted picture of reality. His slow, calm voice is soothing and gives the illusion of depth.
Over time I realized that his ability to critique and dismantle institutions wasn’t the product of careful consideration but a hat-trick duping his readers to adopt a myopic worldview.

There was a pretty good article recently that went through how Chomsky consistently misrepresents the academic consensus to present many of his views as mainstream rather than fringe. It’s kinda ironic that this guy is known largely for his book about propaganda, when neraly everything he says is blatant propaganda. When you read what he says, look for doublethink, it’s everywhere.
Chomsky basically lives his entire life to prove that he was right about things he said in the 1960’s. Everything is secondary to his personal ego.

I’m actually left wing, I just hate liars. Sometime spend a while reading how Chomsky constantly lies in his linguistics work as well.

He watches progressivism switch to fighting against free speech and orchestrating censorship instead of championing free expression and watches the left start judging people by color and race and most of all watches the left switching to no longer fighting against the establishment to BECOMING the establishment itself.
He let the left become everything he was against…. bullies. So sad.
