Wow! Where did this appear from, and how are they appearing so fast? For such a well written series they are being churned out so fast it’s crazy.
If you haven’t read this series, it’s fantastic. Really well written and a superb story.

Thanks kigiri.
I don’t know if it’s outright prejudice or just ignorance, but Caliphate is not a generic word for kingdom or empire. It has a defined religious and cultural meaning, and using it in this context is frankly hurtful and insulting. I loved the previous books and I didn’t detect anything else malicious in them so I’m thinking it must be ignorance. It’s such a shame really.

If you are offended by the usage of the word caliphate, you need to get your priorities checked. They are always terrible governments led by delusional zealots who think they’re Muhammad.

The plot armor for the protagonist in this book is just ridiculous. You can clearly tell the author rushed this one it’s packed with dumb coincidences that push the plot forward but make the main character look like a complete idiot. Side characters keep popping up out of nowhere, people can’t keep their mouths shut and keep spilling important secrets.
But don’t worry — somehow, everything magically works out in the end, because of course the protagonist ‘just happens’ to keep the one important thing to themselves. Sure, totally makes sense.
And those side characters? They keep forcing themselves into the story just because they’ll be important later in the plot. It’s honestly the weakest book in the series so far — way too messy and full of lazy writing. But fine, I’ll admit it: that’s me complaining on a high level. I still finished it anyway.

I dropped it… It was to much “is she flirting with me” bs

I can totally relate! ^^

Currently 5 hours in and it’s still a good book. I’m not sure what the others experienced but read it if you like the previous 4

I’m about half way through and it’s still great just like the previous 4. Not bothered by the flirting stuff that seems to bother Gaydar. These do seem to come out quite fast and that is fantastic, I’m hoping for lots more.

This series just gets better and better. I just picked up another audio with the same author and narrator, “World Sphere”. Just started but that duo can’t possibly produce a bad product. Fricken go Erik!

I really enjoyed the first few books but I felt after they got out of that ghost dungeon the story hasn’t been as good. This book is the weakest so far.

I agree with some of the other commenters here. This book is a pretty weak entry in the series. It feels like filler and it’s the first book in the series that I found myself frequently bored with. The author seems to be chasing quantity at the expensive of quality now. DNF at ~80%.
